Frustrated Much?

My poor blog is messed up. My domain is not forwarding to blogspot. In all fairness I may have messed things up trying to resolve blogspot with my domain, finding out that then left a lack of direction where the whole lack of prefix was involved and then switching it back.

Basically I screwed with it.

I put in a help ticket with GoDaddy, but I'm not convinced that they are ran by actual people so we'll see how that works.

Anyway, just wanted to apologize for any inconvenience, but I don't generally apologize for things out of my control so all I'd really be apologizing for is screwing with it in the first place, but really, I kind of know what I'm doing and I think this is all GoDaddy's fault. You should totally ask my husband about my lack of ability to say I'm sorry. Ewww. That gave me the hives just writing that word.

Also, I'd like to ask your advice: should I switch to wordpress while I'm still young and fresh or are the benefits of the community of blogger worth sticking around for?

I've heard a few folks at blogspot whining in the last week. So maybe it's not you.

On the other hand, I'm on my own domain at a wordpress blog. I'm doing okay. Slowly building a following. I'm not sure how much blogspot offers you in terms of a community, but I'm not sure it's worth the frustration.

Oh no...I vote stay with Blogger. I'm on Blogger, and not going anywhere:)

When I left Blogger, I went to TypePad. It's not free, but I love it. Also, I have GoDaddy and I have always had good, fast customer service, but I have always called and never submitted a ticket online.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm terrified to do anything to my blog. Once I tried to download google analytics and the entire
"template" (is that what you call it? The banner at the top) changed.

Love me some Wordpress, but never used Blogger so I can't compare. I have heard a lot of bloggers hating on blogger so there you go.

(off soapbox now...)

Oh. Also, I was volunteering for a charity that used GoDaddy. After spending two days trying to figure out FTP (the simplest task in building a website, arguably), I told them I couldn't continue unless they changed their host. HORRIBLE. said...

Having experienced both blogger and wordpress, I vote wordpress. I just think it's an easier, more intuitive way to run a blog.

Having used both, I would say using Wordpress is probably better, but the reason you are having problems with your domain is GoDaddy's fault, not bloggers. Everyone who has bought their domain from GoDaddy or close to everyone has had problems. I reccommend that if you have another blog on blogger, you get a domain directly from google. As for wordpress, you'll see a lot less traffic going to your blog.

Switch to wordpress. I played around with the idea for months and I wish I had done it sooner. It's not as "blogging for dummies" as Blogger is :-D but it has a lot more features, better features. Switch. The sooner the better.

Okay, I'll look into wordpress.

GoDaddy sent me a nice email and re-propagated my DNS. All is well there.

You guys rock. Thanks for all the feedback.

A little late on the comment but here's my 2 cents.
I use Wordpress and Blogspot for different blogs. I started with blogger but want a self-hosted blog so did my next blog on Wordpress.

I have to STOP: I can tell I am going to ramble so guess I will make this a post.
I’ll call it,
Blogspot (really Google) or or
